QUICK TIP!

Have a pair of pants or a dress that need to be hemmed only about an inch?! No need to go to the seamstress for that! Turn the garment inside out and fold along where the original hem is sewn in. This will help to keep the hem straight across. Fasten the folden up part with safety pins and stitch in a new hem with thread the same color as the fabric. Make sure to keep the stitches small so they won't appear uneven. Take out the safety pins, turn the garmets rightside up, iron along the hemline and you're good to go!
