Sale Spotlight!

I'm not sure if I've ever seen anything like the clothing by Desigual, and that's a good thing. It's like pop-art you can wear! And today/tomorrow, it's on sale at ideeli! My pick: the striped tunic, originally $134, now $69.

Essentials!: Black Flats

Black Flats. You can wear them to work with a shift dress, to run errands with jeans, with leggings just lounging around, anytime, anywhere, anyday! They are probably the most versatile thing in any girls wardrobe. It'd be nice to splurge on a great pair, but finding cheap and reliable ones is easier than you think. I had a pair similar to THESE from Payless for two years, wore them frequently, and loved them. Best part - only $16.99!!!

Smart Splurge of the Day!

Hangers might seem like a weird thing to splurge on, considering you can get them some places for 50 cents each. However, if you're like me and you have an ever expanding wardrobe and shrinking amount of closet space, great space saving hangers will quickly seem well worth it.

I recieved my first Huggable Hangers from my mom a few years ago and was amazed that clothes never slip off of them. It wasn't until recently, when I moved and had to fit a walk-in closet's worth of clothes into half a tiny closet, that I realized what amazing space savers they are! Seriously...... They take up half the space of bulky plastic hangers!

Usually $18.95 for a 24-pack on HSN, stocking up can get a little pricey. Lucky for us, they are having a special deal -- a closet makeover set, which includes 96 hangers, among other things, for $79.95 (which can be divided into 4 payments of $19.99.)

It's worth it, I promise :)

Fun with Glasses!

Picking out a pair of glasses can be stressful. They need to not take away from your face and still match everything you wear. Sometimes don't you just want to go a little crazy?!!

You're in luck! RueLaLa is having a designer eyewear sale today featuring Betsey Johnson, Lilly Pulitzer and Corrine McCormack! Most glasses are under $40. Why don't you do something a little crazy then! My pick: a set of 2 pairs of Betsey Johnson glasses for $39.90 (originally $90.)

While wearing these, you'll be guarenteed to be doing a lot of "smizing." :)

Spring cleaning had you putting away all of your heavy knit sweaters, and now, in time for summer, it's time to stock up on all things crochetted. Check out ideeli today for their crochet chic sale, featuring everything from dresses to shoes to accessories to tops. And the best part, everything is under $75. My pick, the Casual Couture crochetted black maxi dress, originally $148, on sale for $45.

Essentials!: The Skinny Belt

There are things every girl should have in her closet, but you shouldn't break the bank in doing so...

One thing I think every girl should have - a skinny belt. Use it to create shape when wearing flowy tunics.... Wear it on top of your cardigan as an accent... And of course use it to hold up your jeans (I personally prefer skinny belts with jeans because they don't take away as much from the actual outfit.)

The best part about skinny belts - they're relatively inexpensive. THIS one from Forever 21 is $3.80 and it's easy to find many in the under $10 range.

You paid HOW MUCH?!

White is hot - there's no doubt about it. While all over white might not be your thing, white accessories are much more versatile and easier to rock. My favorite: the white crossbody bag. You might think a nice leather one would run you a lot of money, but it's easier than you think to have everyone fooled....

Rebecca Minkoff Main Squeeze Crossbody Bag - $395

Rampage Daphne Crossbody Briefcase - $49 (on sale on ideeli)

Sure, the bags may look a little different, but they still have the glitz factor, and no one will know how little you spent to look so good :)

A Summer Wedge with a Kind Soul

I've posted a number of entries about my love for Shoedazzle. And the site just keeps finding new ways to give. In addition to the shoes to benefit Lupus I showed you last week, and the Autism Awareness shoes the month before, they have teamed up with another celebrity to style a shoe and keep paying it forward.

This time around, they've partnered with Kristin Cavalleri to create the perfect summer wedge. Bardot is the definition of girly with her pink ruffles and the high wedge gives it a hint of sex appeal. Making this shoe even sweeter is that 100% of profits go to OneKid OneWorld, an organization helping kids around the world.

Bardot will be in all members showrooms for the remainder of the month, but I have a feeling this perfect shoe for summer nights will go FAST.

Smart Splurge of the Day!

A truly splurgeworthy handbag can be hard to find! I splurgeworthy handbag for 1/3 the retail price is even harder to find, and even more worth it! I love this L.A.M.B Bennett shopper tote. It has pockets for everything but still looks sleek, and the metallic leather will take you through all seasons and dress up even the most casual of outfits. The BEST part!!!!... The bag retails for $428, but is currently on sale at Gilt for $129!

Get Summer Ready for 80% off!

The summer is fast approaching (Can you believe Memorial Day Weekend is sooo close?!?!) which means that bathing suit season is around the corner! Just in time, eBay Vault has a swimwear sale, offering designer swimwear for up to 80% off! My pick: THIS Rachel Pappo floral bikini, originally $142, on sale for $39.99

QUICK TIP!

Has a trend passed? Or have you grown tired of a certain item? Do your clothes not fit anymore? CONSIGN THEM! Many consignment shops sell clothes for half the retail price, and then you keep a portion of the sale!

Don't feel discouraged. Just because a consignment shop says they only take certain brands, they will usually accept consignments from a broader variety of designers. You might be surprised by how much money you make!

2 New ShoeDazzles for a Cause!

I'm a little late to the party since I was supposed to post this yesterday, World Lupus Day, but ShoeDazzle is now offering members two purple shoes to benefit the cause. Proceeds from the Charm and Torica shoes go to the Lupus Foundation of America.

Charm is a metallic purple flat that can spice up the plainest of outfits. Torica is a metallic purple heel perfect for leather jackets and skinny jeans. No matter how you rock either, you'll feel good knowing you're doing good!

If you're a ShoeDazzle member, both shoes will be featured in your showroom for the remainder of the month.

Sale Spotlight!

Being comfy and feeling flirty are two things that don't usually go together. However, NY-based clothing company Sophomore manages to blend the two together effortlessly. Flowy knits that will drape you perfectly, soft cotton with zippers to add an edginess - this collection has it all! Even better - it's on sale today and tomorrow at Hautelook!

My pick: The zipper dress in black. Originally $74; on sale for $18!

Target's Newest Go International Collaboration!

If you thought I was excited about Calypso for Target.. I'm 1,000x more excited about their next Go International collab.... MISSONI! It's like my dream is becoming a reality - because on sale Missoni dresses are still $400, which is way too much for this frugalista (even on a splurge.) Expect to see lots of their signature zig-zag prints in the ****400 PIECE*** collection!!!!!! To give you an idea of how big that is, the Calypso collection was 100 pieces and seemed HUGE.

Mark your calendars now, the collection goes on sale on September 13!

Sale Spotlight!

You can be young, fabulous and broke.... and still afford Young, Fabulous & Broke! The sportswear line, favored by the Hollywood set, is on sale today at Gilt.

My pick, this two-toned tunic... Originally $172, now $49!

Be Derby Ready for Under $60!

The Kentucky Derby is this Saturday, and you know what that means - fabulous sundresses paired with even more fabulous hats! Want to be the best dressed at your event, here's an outfit idea for under $60...

Lets start off with the dress. Pastels are the norm but stand out in THIS black and white sundress from Forever 21 (only $19.80)
Onto the shoes... You can't roam around the infield in a pair of heels so you'll need to stick to wedges. THESE from GoJane are cute without being too high, so you won't be teetering around after a few too many mint juleps ($17.30)
Onto the hat... Start off simple and make it your own. THIS one from Target is a good starting point ($14.99).
You can find a brightly colored ribbon to accessorize or pin a flower to it! I like THIS one from Forever 21 ($4.80.)

In total, this Derby Day outfit costs: $56.89, and the pieces are simple enough that you'll be able to use them again and again!

(Royally) Smart Splurge of the Day!

I still haven't gotten over my royal wedding fever, so forgive me for this one... Reasons why I love Catherine's engagement ring: 1) it's beatiful (DUH!) and 2) it's sapphire (I'm born in September.) While getting a replica might seem a little tacky, this CZ by Kenneth Jay Lane necklace inspired by the ring is a nice substitute. Even better, it's on sale for $69 at Gilt (originally $139).

Now all I need is a sale on McQueen wedding gowns ;)

My Shoedazzle picks for May!

With the weather warming up more and more by the day, it's time to show a little more skin and have more fun with your accessories! Here are my picks for May!:

VALERIA: I have a feeling white shoes are going to be huge for the rest of spring and into the summer, and these strappy shoes are right on trend.
QUINCE: Channel your inner Coco Chanel with these quilted heels. The bow adds a bit of whimsy. (Full disclosure: I BOUGHT THESE!) :)
KATERINA: Add a pop of color to your summer wardrobe with the greens and pinks of this fun sandal.
PALISADES: One bag, two ways to wear it. Palisades is big enough to hold all of your essentials but still manages to be chic without looking bulky. 4 bright colors to choose from... I still can't decide which one is my favorite
AFTERNOON TEA: Feel like royalty in this romantic jewelry set.

Happy shopping!
